Salman plays it safe with Ash at Tendulkar’s party

Sachin Tendulkar scored his 100th century on March 16, in the fourth match of the Asia Cup against Bangladesh in Mirpur; but at a party thrown by the Ambanis to celebrate that ton of tons on Monday – a different kind of game was played out.



And the leading player at this glittering do, hosted by Nita and Mukesh Ambani at their Altamont Road residence Antilla in Mumbai, was none other than Bollywood’s big scorer Salman Khan.

The party, as is known, was the Ambanis’s gesture dedicated to the Master Blaster and their Mumbai Indians IPL skipper, in honour of his achievement. And invited to it, were the A-list of Page 3 types, including the city’s who’s-who, Bollywood stars, cricketers, and captains of industry.

Bollywood, it must be mentioned – led by Amitabh Bachchan himself, was among the first cricket aficionados and Tendulkar fans to tweet congratulatory messages, when the master batsman scored his 100th ton. So its presence at the Ambani party was natural.

What was not natural, however, was the attendance of Salman at this party. The last time the Ambanis hosted a similar bash for Tendulkar in 2009 at their Cuffe Parade residence Seawind, and Salman was conspicuous by his absence. That party was anchored by Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and also had an impressive Bollywood line-up.

And not only did Salman show up this time, but he played the perfect gentleman by keeping a respectable distance from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who had come with husband Abhishek. According to a source, "Salman was at his sober best, he was dressed in formal attire, and with great dignity walked into greet and meet hall and took a corner seat." He was joined by his Dabangg co-star Sonakshi Sinha, her father Shatrughan, and old friend Raj Thackeray; while Aishwarya and Abhishek sat at the opposite end with Hrithik and Susanne Roshan and Ekta Kapoor.

"When Salman was asked to share a few thoughts about the man of the evening, he took the mike and spoke extempore, keeping the audience in splits with his ready wit and charm. And, though she sat just a few feet away from him on the podium, Salman studiously refrained from looking in Ash’s direction,” added the source. Abhishek was seen applauding Chulbul Pandey's heartfelt speech.

Even after the ceremony, when vegetarian delicacies and wine were being served at the roof top food court on Antilla, Salman successfully kept aloof from the crowd until Aamir Khan accompanied by Tendulkar and the Ambani couple joined him for a short animated discussion. Harbhajan Singh with Geeta Basra, Sushmita Sen and Virender Sehwag were others, who kept the Dabangg Khan busy, with Virat Kohli taking muscle building tips from Sallu bhai.

Another highlight of the evening was the scene of Priyanka Chopra, the Master of Ceremonies for this grand occasion, who is known to be close to Shah Rukh Khan, giving Salman a hug before the actor graciously departed from the venue stating he had an early shoot for Dabangg 2.

Our hundred dollar question: was there any tension in the air because of these subtle theatrics? Our source said, “You bet… as much as when Sachin Tendulkar was on 99 and waiting to score his 100th hundred at Mirpur that day!”

Its nappy time for some of our Bollywood divas. Yes! our Bollywood glamorous mommies are now staying off screen and are busy nurturing their little babies.

Joining Ash and Lara, is the new mommy in town. Well, we are talking about Celina Jaitly, who recently gave birth to twin babies.
News is that the babies have been named Winston and Viraaj.

Lara Dutta who gave birth to a baby girl earlier this year has also been off screen for sometime now, taking care of her bundle of joy. She has named her little one Sara.

Lara wrote on Twitter last month, “Back to hearing scripts and making decisions. Exciting things to look forward to! On another note, nothing smells better than a Johnson’s Baby.”

Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai, chose to remain indoor, away from the media during her pregnancy. She delivered a baby girl last year in the month of November and has name her little angel Aaradhya.

She has decided to stay away from films and is taking care of her kid.

Her husband, Abhishek Bachchan say,
“When she wants to come back is completely her decision…as and when she decides, when she sees a script she is inspired by – the decision is entirely hers. Currently she is very happy doing what she is doing.”

Dhoom 3′ will begin shooting from this May

Yash Raj Film's "Dhoom 3" has been in news ever since Aamir Khan had signed the film. YRF’s much awaited film ‘Dhoom 3‘ which stars Aamir Khan as an antagonist, has already been delayed several times and now it has got delayed once again because of the actor’s new project.

Yesterday a leading daily reported that the shooting of the film had been indefinitely postponed and that it would be shot after Aamir completes work on Rajkumar Hirani’s next.“This is absolutely baseless,” said a press statement issued by YRF Tuesday.

The shooting of “Dhoom: 3″ will begin in May and Aamir Khan will join the cast and crew as per schedule, clarifies Yash Raj Films (YRF).

"Dhoom:3" starts shooting in May 2012 and Aamir Khan joins the schedule in June as per plan. Produced by Aditya Chopra, the film is written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who had written “Dhoom” and “Dhoom 2″.

Apart from Aamir, who plays the anti-hero in the film, the film will star Katrina Kaif along with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra who played Jai Dixit and Ali, respectively, in the last two movies.The film is slated for a 2013 release.

Bollywood has its own stories of Love, Break up, enmity and hatred. If today people are friendly, tomorrow they become enemy and that’s how celebrities live their lives. The infamous and bitter break up between Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan is one of them. Salman's relationship with Aishwarya Rai was the talk-of-the-town back then, but their split caused a lot of furor. And after their break up they have always tried to avoid each other and have always maintained the required difference. And now when Aishwarya is a Bachchan bahu it is but natural for Abhishek Bachchan to continue this fight.

A very awkward situation was averted when Abhishek Bachchan and Salman Khan almost came face-to-face at Mona Kapoor's funeral.

At Mona Kapoor’s funeral, Abhishek Bachchan was one of the first to arrive. While the actor was inside paying condolence to the Kapoor family, Salman with his family arrived at the spot.

On learning that Abhishek was inside, Salman decided to stay out and wait in his car till Abhishek had left the venue. As a result Khan had to wait for almost half an hour and only stepped out once Abhishek had left the venue.

Even though the occasion was not for socializing, Salman clearly couldn’t let go of his past baggage and decided to not cross path with his ex’s husband.

Well, this fight doesn’t seem ending soon.

Salman Khan might come across as a strong man, but somewhere inside he still can’t seem to get over his past. His relationship with Aishwarya Rai was the talk-of-the-town back then, but their split caused a lot of furor.

Post their break-up, Aishwarya moved on and so did Salman; but, the actor still seem to get uncomfortable in the presence of his former girlfriend’s in-laws.

At a recent condolence meet, Aishwarya’s husband Abhishek was one of the few to arrive early. Salman, too, came to the same venue with his family. Media reports suggest that on learning that Abhishek was inside the premises, he chose to not step out and stayed in his vanity van for about half an hour, the actor came out not before Abhishek had left the venue.

Currently, Salman is apparently single after his relationship with Katrina Kaif also went kaput.

Aamir’s ‘Dhoom 3′ pushed back once again

Bad news for Dhoom fans and those who were waiting to see Aamir Khan in Dhoom. Earlier we reported that the release of "Dhoom 3", which was earlier slated for a 2012 christmas release has been postponed to 2013 for Aamir Khan's TV Show.

Now according to the latest buzz YRF's 'Dhoom 3' has pushed back once again for Aamir Khan. For a long time it was being debated if Aamir Khan would start Raju Hirani’s untitled film first or the much delayed Dhoom 3. And now it is finally decided. The actor is doing the Hirani film and since he does only one film at a time, it now seems like Dhoom 3 will have to wait.

Says an insider, Aamir did not want to let go of Raju’s film. Raju wouldn’t have waited and would’ve started the film with Ranbir Kapoor. Aditya Chopra has no choice but to wait for AK, so his dream project starring Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Uday Chopra has once again been pushed back.

Aamir will be seen as the baddie in the film while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will continue with the famous pair of Jai and Ali.

So this means poor Katrina Kaif will not get her wish and have a film each with the reigning Khans – Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh in the same year!

Evergreen Rekha gets ready for her TV debut

The latest buzz doing rounds in Bollywood circles is that Bollywood's original diva Rekha is all set to make her television debut as she receives an offer to be one of the judges for this year's edition of ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’.

Reports say that Rekha has been approached to judge the popular dance reality show which features celebrities along with a choreographer. Madhuri, Malaika Arora Khan and choreographer Remo Fernandes were on the judges panel last year. Madhuri will be a part of this season as well but insiders say when the offer was made initially, Rekha was very reluctant to accept it as she had never done television before. It took a lot of convincing on the part of the channel to make her say ‘yes’. But now that she has agreed, things have almost been finalised and a contract might be signed up soon.

Her penchant and obsession for dance is no mystery. The sexy siren is a trained Kathak dancer, a fact clearly visible through all the eternal mujra numbers that she has enthralled her audiences with for years.

Rekha is known in the film industry for being a master at another art form – that of the glib talk. Although the dusky beauty hails from down South, she has been trained in speaking Urdu, English and Hindi. Her choice of words therefore reflects her multilingual abilities.

Both these qualities put together make a rare combination, something quite desirable for a judge of a dance competition.

Although Rekha had been approached on numerous occasions to be a part of reality shows on TV, this is for the very first time that the ageless beauty has agreed. "We had to really pursue Rekha, and she has finally agreed to be a part of the show. Things are almost finalized and we are looking forward to having her sign the contract soon. We are keeping our fingers crossed, as her presence will really boost the show. Stand-up comedian Krushna Abhishek and Kavita Kaushik aka Chandramukhi Chautala are likely to host the show," revealed a source related to the show.

The best selling author Chetan Bhagat couldn’t have asked for more as all his three books have been a hit among the readers and later been made into films. After ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Hello’, now his third book is being adapted into a film.

His ‘3 Mistakes of My Life’ to be directed by Abhishek Kapoor will soon go on floors in Ahmedabad. Confirming the same, Bhagat tweeted, “By the way, shooting for the 3mistakes of my life film goes on the floors in ahmedabad next month. Will tweet more soon..Until then shhh...(sic)”.

Abhishek, who earlier made Rock On, has completely re-written the screenplay for the film.

While there has ben no official confirmation on the same, Amitabh Bachchan, who is active on social networking websites, didn’t deny the report either.
