Look who has has some unflattering words for Aishwarya Rai!!

Italian historian and author of about 17 historical novels, Valerio Massimo Manfredi has a few unpleasant words for Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai.
For those who do not know, Aishwarya Rai along with Colin Firth and Ben Kingsley, acted in the film ‘The Last Legion’, which is adapted from Manfredi’s own book.
Talking to a news agency, Manfredi said, “My character of the leading lady was totally different. She was from a village but Aishwarya was totally different. She was the lover of the protagonist…but she acted as if the film was for kids,” Manfredi is quoted to have told IANS.
In love with Aishwarya Rai’s eyes, Manfredi regretted the lack of expression of love in them.
“She has such strong expressive and beautiful eyes. Some little expression of love would have made the film more different,” Manfredi added.
“I have noticed that everybody who has not read the book liked the film and those who read the book did not like the movie. This is very usual because they are two different kinds of expression. While the book uses words, cinema uses images,”
Manfredi was in India to launch the Indian editions of his popular Alexander trilogy.
Did Aishwarya do a cover shoot?

Till last week, we heard that Aishwarya Rai has been rejecting several offers coming her way, because of her two-months-old baby. However, the latest is that the actress has posed for the cover page of the January edition of Elegant Living magazine, which is a US based publication.
On the cover, Ash is all decked up in a white suit and a hat. She looks quite slim and trim. So we wonder when did the shoot happen!
Buzz has it that the mag, having Ash on its cover, is just a publicity stunt so as to attract people to purchase their copies with the hope of getting a glimpse of recent images of Ash and her baby.
Currently, when the entire nation is curious to know what’s cooking in the Bachchan pariwaar, whats delaying the formal naming of the baby, etc etc, having Aishwarya on the maazne cover is the best way to get its copies sold, like hot cakes.
These marketing gimmick , i tell you.!
Madhur seeks blessings for ‘HEROINE’ at Golden Temple
05 days ago

National Award winning Director Madhur Bhandarkar, known for making hard-hitting realistic films like Chandni Bar, Jail, Traffic Singal, Fashion, Page 3, is right now busy with his most awaited and controversial film called HEROINE.
Madhur Bhandarkar, which is always in the headlines for his controversial and realistic film making is a firm believer in God. Before starting shooting for a new film, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar makes it a point to visit one religious place in the country.
Just as his second schedule of the controversial film, "Heroine" is set to start; Madhur went to the Golden Temple, Amritsar to seek blessings on Saturday.
Madhur, who is known for his spiritual and religious beliefs said, "Spiritual visits are for the soul and this trip is a part of my regular spiritual dosage. I am rejuvenated and elated to be here. I thank God to have supported me through the first schedule of this journey of making the film."
As we all know that many controversies have been with the movie since the start like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being dropped out of the project owing to her pregnancy and being replaced by Kareena Kapoor; and he is very hopeful about the film's outcome.
"As I had visualized, "Heroine" is shaping up to be a very contemporary film with a different premise and strata. This film, like most of my other films is a blend of facts and fiction. The film has a larger span, more characters, and costumes... a journey that revolves around an actress's life and the showbiz," he added.
Aishwarya is out, Sonam is in !

Her films may have been classified as non-performing assets by the filmi duniya, but Sonam Kapoor is still considered a hot-and-happening star. Even before the ghost of Players is laid to rest at the box office, Sonam’s already — as is her wont — moved on to her next big project. This time, it’s her mentor Sanjay Leela Bhansali who’s signed her on.
But Sonam — who Sanjay launched in Saawariya — wasn’t the auteur’s first choice. She wasn’t even his second. It seems Sanjay had desperately wanted his muse, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to star in his directorial project. But Ash backed out of the film. Then there was talk that Sanjay had approached Preity Zinta for the same project, but with one thing and another, the bubbly actress couldn’t be finalised either. That was when Sanjay settled on Sonam. “Sanjay sees a lot of potential in Sonam. All she needs is the right script and a good director,” a source revealed. Sonam too confirmed, “I am doing Sanjay’s film.” The project is a crucial one for Sanjay, as he needs to get over Saawariya and Guzaarish. So will this be their lucky chance?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in no rush to return
02 weeks ago

Ever since news of actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s pregnancy was announced, the she has been on a self-imposed hiatus.
Now, enjoying motherhood to the hilt, the actress’s in no rush to get back to films anytime soon. But that hasn’t stopped hopeful filmmakers from offering her scripts. Confirming this, a source says, “Filmmakers are still sending her their scripts knowing very well that Aishwarya’s too busy being a mum to read them at the moment. But they are still hoping that their scripts will be considered whenever the actor is ready to sign films and continue to drop by scripts at her Juhu residence.”
Apparently, several production houses have been informed that she’s not looking at films yet, but that hasn’t deterred them from sending scripts across and there are always films they want her to consider at least once, informs an insider.
Of these several filmmakers are offering her to pair up with hubby Abhishek Bachchan too, hoping that working with him again may just do the trick.
But as of now, apparently nothing has caught Ash’s fancy who’s even keeping away from the social circuit, except for close family functions.
“Attending the recent bash hosted by Parmeshwar Godrej for Oprah Winfrey was a rare exception though. That’s because Oprah is a dear friend and she had personally invited her over to India when she was the guest on her show twice,” says a source. “So, Oprah kept her promise by dropping by the Bachchan residence on her visit here and Ash was more than happy to host her.”
But these commitments apart, according to insiders, the actor is enjoying being a mum too much to consider film offers yet.
“Aishwarya’s a completely hands-on-mum and is totally enjoying this phase of her life and doesn’t want to be distracted by work at all. Her return will depend on whenever she feels comfortable, but we don’t think anything immediately is on the cards yet,” says another insider.
Motherhood may be keeping Aishwarya Rai off the silver screen, but when it comes to brand endorsements Aish is no slouch. In fact she pulled in a billion rupees last year from advertising work alone!
Oprah – “Beti B is gorgeous even with her eyes closed”

Once bitten, twice shy. Seems like the scuffle between her bodyguards and a section of the Indian media in Vrindavan has left Oprah Winfrey wary in terms of security arrangements here. So much so that the celebrated American talk show host is now contemplating making her first trip to India her
related stories
“It’s a centurial visit. India is so diverse. It’s gorgeous. It’s like paradise. It has been an overwhelming experience to come here,” the 57-year-old told us while taking a guided tour of the Taj Mahal in Agra on Thursday.
“I want to thank (India) for my first visit here and my last visit too,” she said. Asked why she doesn’t plan to come back ever again unlike her Hollywood friends, Winfrey said with a visibly confused and disappointed look on her face, “I don’t know.”
The talk show goddess seems quite upset with the chaos in Vrindavan which ensued when three of her bodyguards were arrested for roughing up scribes and damaging their equipment. The incident occured when the journalists were chasing Oprah while she was shooting her new show, Oprah’s Next Chapter, there.
However, the actor-philanthropist remained tight-lipped about what really happened there, and her management too did not comment. They did confide in us though, that “it was unfortunate”.
Meanwhile, her visit to the Taj left some desis oblivious. Some even thought that one ‘opera singer’ was there.
She might not be visiting again but she has had a mouthful of “spicy” delicacies that she’ll always remember. “I tried a lot of it with champagne. It was delicious,” she told us. Oprah stayed at The Oberoi Amarvilas and shot at Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri before leaving for the Jaipur Literature Fest.
Beti B is ‘gorgeous’
Oprah can’t get over AbhiAsh’s Beti B, whom she met on Monday. “She is gorgeous, even with her eyes closed,” said Oprah, who reportedly called her ‘Princess’. When told that she turned Amitabh Bachchan, the biggest star in the country, a chauffeur, she said, “I don’t know about that but it was great to see the way he was holding the baby in his arms.”
She also made a pit stop at fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s store in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Winfrey bought a beautiful net silk sari from the designer who was intimated about the celeb’s stop over, but still had his doubts given Winfrey’s jam-packed schedule.
Mukherjee says, “She first saw my work when actor Aishwarya Rai wore my sari on her show. Oprah quite liked the sari and had asked Aishwarya about the designer.”
