Lovebirds Riteish-Genelia get Married in granduer

It's smiles all the way for the happy couple Genelia D'Souza and Riteish Deshmukh. The hot long time girlfriend- boyfriend Genelia D’ Souza and Ritesh Deshmukh tied the knot yesterday in traditional Marathi style at a five-star hotel here in the presence of leading figures from Bollywood and the world of politics. Almost the entire Bollywood fraternity was present to witness the first big wedding of the year.
Riteish, wearing a white sherwani and red 'feta' (turban), entered the hotel on a 'ghodi'. Bride Genelia's maharashtrian look was styled by Lulla’s daughter, Nishika. The 'baaraat' started from the grounds near Grand Hyatt and reached the hotel. The actor's politician father Vilasrao Deshmukh was dressed in a brown sherwani.
Among those present were Sharad Pawar, Prithviraj Chavan, Praful Patel, Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Kajol and Ajay Devgn.
One of the first one to arrive was actor Jacky Bhagnani. Close pal Ashish Choudhary was seen hiding the groom’s shoes from the bride’s sisters. Riteish’s co star from ‘Heyy Baby’, Akshay Kumar and the film’s director, Sajid Khan were seen chatting up with Jackie Shroff.
Dressed in a white jacket and black trousers, Shah Rukh Khan walked in with wife Gauri and daughter Suhana. While Gauri matched her outfit with her hubby, and wore a white and gold lehenga, daughter Suhana chose to wear a bright pink lehenga.
Soon after the wedding, actor Shahid Kapoor tweetd, “And G is married !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbeleivable. :)(sic)”.
Riteish Deshmukh tweeted a picture of his and his new bride with the caption ‘Mr &Mrs Deshmukh’.
The wedding celebrations started on Tuesday with a grand Sangeet ceremony which was attended by the entire film industry and was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar.
The couple genelia and ritesh first met each other in the shooting of film Tujhe Meri Kasam before nine years. Over the last few years, they were spotted together in many functions and programs.

After Akshay Kumar and John Abraham rocked the big screen with their male escort act in Desi Boyz, it's time for Randeep Hooda to do the same.
The actor had once confessed to having tried his hand at being a being escort, but later dropped the idea owing to the agent’s odd demand. And now it seems, director Satish Kaushik has taken a cue from Hooda and offered him to play a gigolo in his next.
According to reports, the actor will play the lead character in the film. Mahie Gill, who worked with Hooda in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, is being considered for the female lead.
The duo set the screen on fire with their power-packed performance and intimate scenes in the film. Both the actors have carved a niche for themselves and it will be worth the wait to see the actors sizzle the screen again.

Playing a Sardar in a Bollywood film is definitely the 'in' thing. Akshay Kumar started it all, Saif Ali Khan joined in as well, Salman Khan played one in HEROES and Ranbir Kapoor in ROCKET SINGH. Going by the current fad, Ajay Devgn is all set to play a sardar in his upcoming film SON OF SARDAR. Not only Devgn, but the most unsuspecting Tusshar Kapoor is also happy to wear a pagdi in his next release - CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI.
''Yes, of late quite a few B-town folks are playing a Sikh protagonist'', says a filmmaker, ''Earlier it was pretty much the territory of the likes of Dharmendra and Sunny Deol who were rightly known as the 'sons of soil'. Other senior actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt too have experimented by playing a Sardar. However in recent times it is Akshay Kumar who started the trend with SINGH IS KINNG and now other actors are hopping on to the bandwagon as well.''
TUSSHAR KAPOOR and AJAY DEVGN
It seems that Ajay will be well-liked by the audience in a sardar look. ''Ajay is playing the central protagonist in SON OF SARDAR and has already shot for it in Punjab. He had earlier played a Sikh protagonist in THE LEGEND OF BHAGAT SINGH but it was a relatively serious affair. SON OF SARDAR has been designed as a full-on-entertainer though and Ajay has gone an extra mile to get the nuances of a Sikh character right'', says a source from the production team.
On the other hand CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI would see Tusshar Kapoor as a sardar for a major segment of the film. An out and out comic affair, the film is directed by Samir Karnik who hit gold with his full-on Punjabi drama in YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA. Though he doesn't have Deols on his side this time around, the filmmaker is hoping that 'being Punjabi' would reap benefits for him yet again for his latest outing.
Tusshar says, ''The film has a North Indian backdrop to it and I had fun playing this character here. Personally for me comedy has always worked and Samir has made sure that this one is a full-on masala out and out romantic comedy. CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI is totally my genre and honestly, this film is the best thing that could have happened to me in the recent times.''
A couple of years ago it was Saif Ali Khan who turned sardar for one of the two characters that he played in LOVE AAJ KAL. It was a serious character but Arshad Warsi got into a comical zone when he portrayed a sardar character in DOUBLE DHAMAAL. This year though it would be the turn of Ajay Devgn and Tusshar Kapoor to get into the Sikh zone.

SRK to play a cop in a Tamil remake

If there’s one role that B’wood actors love to play it’s that of a cop. Ask the Big B who was a cop in several films, or Sallu, Ajay Devgn or Akshay Kumar who all went on to enjoy phenomenal success at the BO with their policeman acts. Call it his late entry to action films or bad luck SRK hasn’t been able to get too many offers for playing a cop (the only one being the flop ‘One 2 Ka 4’). But all that could change soon.
Rumour has it that south Indian veteran Kamal Haasan wants SRK to play his role in the remake of his Tamil film ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu,’ that became a cult hit in 2006. In the movie Kamal played a police officer who has to figure out the culprit behind a series of rapes and murders.
Apparently, the director of the movie Gautam Menon (who already has a remake of his Tamil film titled ‘Ek Deewana Tha,’ starring Prateik Babbar hitting the theatres in February) was keen on taking Kamal’s opinion on the lead actor in the Hindi version. Kamal immediately named SRK as the apt choice. That Kamal chose SRK doesn’t seem surprising. The two share a good friendship that started when SRK agreed to do a cameo in the Kamal’s film ‘Hey Ram’ back in 2000.
When Filmmaker Gautam Menon was approached for comment he confirmed the news and dismissed rumours of him considering Salman for the remake. Surprisingly, it is believed SRK hasn’t signed the project yet. Sources close to him say he is hesitant because arch rival Aamir is already playing a cop in ‘Talaash’.

Friendships in Bollywood are very erratic. Once best buddies, Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan, too, couldn’t escape the pressure of retaining their friendship. And now, they are at war again and this time it’s the Box Office which will announce the winner.
Farah is excited about her husband’s project Joker and they are all set to release the movie on 31st August. Interestingly, SRK’s co-production with Dharma Productions, Student Of The Year, will also release on the same date. So, it is a face-off between the two Khans at the Box Office this year.
Farah was so close to his once-upon-a-time-friend that she declared that she will make a movie without him. However, the director chose Akshay Kumar over Shah Rukh to make Tees Maar Khan, where the tussle between Farah and SRK gained force. Later, reports of SRK throwing a party on Farah’s failure at the Box Office started floating.
Now, let’s wait and watch, who gets an opportunity to celebrate this time.
