0

South Indian actress Nidhi Subbaiha has become quite a talking point in B-Town, thanks to her uncanny resemblance to critically acclaimed actor and diva, Chitrangada Singh. Nidhi has been mistaken for Chitrangada quite a few times and guess it was her striking similarity with actress that led actor Akshay Kumar to notice her at a party.

Akshay has now cast her in his home production Oh My God! With her big Bollywood break round the corner, the actress is raring to go. But, it seems that Nidhi is not too kicked about the comparisons that put her and Chitrangda on same platform, talking about the same, she told a daily, "I get that all the time, but I don't want to be somebody's mirror image. I think Chitrangada is gorgeous, but I am my own person."

As of now, the actress is only wishing to make it big in Bollywood, "People down South recognise me because of my films, but it will be great to have more people watch my work," concluded Nidhi.

Shahrukh Khan set to star in Farah Khan’s next

The latest buzz doing the rounds in Bollywood circles is that superstar Shahrukh will be seen acting in Farah Khan’s next movie. Both will come together again after five years. Their last release was Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan.

This move has indeed shocked even those close to the two Khans since after the fracas that happened at Sanjay Dutt's party a few weeks back, it had seemed like the handshake between Shah Rukh and Farah Khan/Shirish Kunder was a quick 'let's-bury-it' move that didn't perhaps hold much weight. However, what happened in days to follow only proves the adage that 'there is no permanent friend or enemy in Bollywood'.

Shah Rukh Khan is in London to shoot Yash Chopra’s un-titled movie with Katrina Kaif. Reports say that Farah narrated the script to Shah Rukh Khan, before he left for a 40-day schedule to London and he instantly said yes.

Not only this, recently Farah even went to London for two days to seal the dates and complete other formalities. The film is being touted as the baap of “Main Hoon Naa” and will be a wholesome entertainer.”

It may be mentioned here that once very good friends, Farah choreographed SRK in several of his films and directed him in Main Hoon Naa and Om Shanti Om. After the super-duper success of ‘Om Shanti Om’, Farah and Shahrukh went separate paths as SRK refused to star in Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder film due to the debacle of Shirish’s last outing ‘Janeman’. Husband and wife cut ties with King Khan and later Farah cast Akshay Kumar in her film, ‘Tees Maar Khan’ which bombed at the box-office.

Shahrukh Khan slapped Shirish at a party and following which the last hope of SRK-Farah’s friendship died down. But they reconciled and the credit went to Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala who played peacemaker in the whole process. At last, Farah-Shirish-Shahrukh dumped their rivalry.

Salman beats SRK to play Lord Krishna in Akshay’s next!

0

A new chapter of cold war is set to unfold between the two biggest superstars in the industry, Salman and Shah Rukh. The buzz that had been doing the rounds recently regarding Akshay Kumar keen on casting either SRK or Sallu to play the lead role in his upcoming production is finally sorted out, and reports suggest that Salman has beaten his biggest rival for the role.

Akshay Kumar’s home production ‘Oh My God’ is based on Paresh Rawal’s highly successful play ‘Krishna v/s Kanhaiya’, and Akki wanted to cast a huge star for the role of Lord Krishna. He had reportedly approached both Shah Rukh and Salman for the same, and according to sources, the ‘Dabangg’ Khan has managed to outdo King Khan to bag the role. Apparently, Salman has replied in the affirmative and the shooting is set to begin soon. Akshay was skeptical about Shah Rukh playing the role anyway since SRK’s extremely busy throughout the year.

Well, this may just be a professional instance of a heavyweight outdoing the other, but we do think that this occurrence will only fuel their already thick animosity. Wonder what happens next.

Asin lost 10 kilos for her movie ‘Housefull 2′

Southern beauty Asin is all set to play the lead role in Sajid Nadiadwala's Housefull 2, which Sajid Khan is directing and stars Akshay Kumar in lead role. Asin who has been busy shooting for Sajid Khan’s next directorial venture "Housefull 2" was at her usual best while shooting for the film’s first schedule. But after few months when the second schedule was commenced everyone’s jaws dropped to see Asin in a slimmer and sexier avatar.

It seems that the trend of getting into a perfect shape and figure has also hit South Indian beauty Asin who recently lost apparently 10 kilos without any demand from her filmmakers.

The filmmaker of ‘Housefull 2’ Sajid Khan is apparently very happy with Asin’s new-found slender figure. But the makeover came at a cost to the production house. Sources say Asin lost a lot of weight around the wrapping of first schedule of ‘Housefull 2’ in London and the second leg of the shoot that kicked off after a break saw Asin in a new completely new ‘avatar’ and so her outfits were instantly sent for alterations and size change.

A source reportedly revealed to the media, “Indian dresses such as the ghagra-choli were altered to fit Asin. But they had to replace the dresses with the same designs in smaller sizes from costume designer Aki Narula because the old ones were too big for her and couldn’t be altered,” adding that the development costed the production house Rs 2.5 lakh extra.

While Asin is basking in the compliments she has been getting of late and crediting her svelte shape to persistent work-outs, we are wondering what happened to the sultry actress’ earlier comment to a reporter: “I believe in performance, not size zero!”

Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar, who has regaled the audience with his slapstick comedy, says he will be taking a break from comedy after 'Housefull 2' to concentrate on action films and serious cinema. Akshay Kumar who began his film journey with action films like "Khiladi", "Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi" and "Mohra", said he was dying to do action for the past seven years.

"There was too much of comedy from my end. Even I got bored of them. For the past seven years, I was craving for a serious and full-fledged action film but I was loaded with comedy.

"Action is something with which I have started my career and it gave me the platform to become a star. I enjoy doing them and now for sometime I will stick to this particular genre.

"After "Housefull 2", my next two releases - "Joker" and "Once Upon a time in Mumbai 2" are hard core actions. I am happy that the action man is back," Akshay told

In the past few years, Akshay has been seen in numerous comedy films like "Welcome", "Singh Is Kinng", "Housefull" and "Tees Maar Khan".

While he tasted success in the initial days with films like "Hera Pheri" and "Garam Masala", his latest comic releases like "Thank You" and "Action Replayy" bombed at the box-office.

"I had a bad year. There were many things which went wrong last year. I chose some bad scripts and eventually all the films didn't do well at the box-office," he said.

wants to now return, the action hero has indeed proved himself to be one of the most physically apt person to fit into that category. Akshay’s earlier movies had him performing some very challenging action sequences which very few top stars would ever even dream of attempting.
