"Believe me, when I started this script I could only think of Akshaye. He is a very good actor and the kind of expressions he gives undoubtedly makes him a kind of common man that you would see in Bhopal or Bareilly or a Bikaner", he says, "God is really great because you may have an ideal cast in your mind but it may not necessarily work out like that. In case of GALI GALI CHOR HAI, whomsoever did I think of is there in the film, right from the leads to the supporting actors. I faced no issues on the dates or the price either. We went as per the plan."

Ajay & Tusshar are 2012′s ‘Singhs’
Playing a Sardar in a Bollywood film is definitely the 'in' thing. Akshay Kumar started it all, Saif Ali Khan joined in as well, Salman Khan played one in HEROES and Ranbir Kapoor in ROCKET SINGH. Going by the current fad, Ajay Devgn is all set to play a sardar in his upcoming film SON OF SARDAR. Not only Devgn, but the most unsuspecting Tusshar Kapoor is also happy to wear a pagdi in his next release - CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI.
''Yes, of late quite a few B-town folks are playing a Sikh protagonist'', says a filmmaker, ''Earlier it was pretty much the territory of the likes of Dharmendra and Sunny Deol who were rightly known as the 'sons of soil'. Other senior actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt too have experimented by playing a Sardar. However in recent times it is Akshay Kumar who started the trend with SINGH IS KINNG and now other actors are hopping on to the bandwagon as well.''

TUSSHAR KAPOOR and AJAY DEVGN
It seems that Ajay will be well-liked by the audience in a sardar look. ''Ajay is playing the central protagonist in SON OF SARDAR and has already shot for it in Punjab. He had earlier played a Sikh protagonist in THE LEGEND OF BHAGAT SINGH but it was a relatively serious affair. SON OF SARDAR has been designed as a full-on-entertainer though and Ajay has gone an extra mile to get the nuances of a Sikh character right'', says a source from the production team.
On the other hand CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI would see Tusshar Kapoor as a sardar for a major segment of the film. An out and out comic affair, the film is directed by Samir Karnik who hit gold with his full-on Punjabi drama in YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA. Though he doesn't have Deols on his side this time around, the filmmaker is hoping that 'being Punjabi' would reap benefits for him yet again for his latest outing.
Tusshar says, ''The film has a North Indian backdrop to it and I had fun playing this character here. Personally for me comedy has always worked and Samir has made sure that this one is a full-on masala out and out romantic comedy. CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI is totally my genre and honestly, this film is the best thing that could have happened to me in the recent times.''
A couple of years ago it was Saif Ali Khan who turned sardar for one of the two characters that he played in LOVE AAJ KAL. It was a serious character but Arshad Warsi got into a comical zone when he portrayed a sardar character in DOUBLE DHAMAAL. This year though it would be the turn of Ajay Devgn and Tusshar Kapoor to get into the Sikh zone.

KJO pays tribute to his father with ‘Agneepath’
01 week ago

Hrithik Roshan-Priyanka Chopra-Sanjay Dutt starrer Agneepath has set the Indian Box Office on fire with its' record breaking collections on the opening day of its' release. The film is still doing an excellent job at the box office and experts in the industry believe the movie would go on to break many more records.
Just a day before the release of Agneepath, Karan Johar had revealed that it was his Late father Yash Johar’s dream to remake the 1990 cult classic by same name! Probably his dad was heartbroken seeing the result of his film at the box-office!
Bollywood had never been able to entertain audiences with the remakes but the 39-year-old Karan Johar’s ‘Agneepath’ has left everyone flabbergasted. He has given Bollywood industry the biggest opening ever in the form of ‘Agneepath’ and the producer now insists that it is a tribute to his father, Yash Johar, who produced the original ‘Agneepath’ back in 1990.
Karan Johar's remake of his father's 1990 film Agneepath has garnered an astoundingly positive reception. The original ‘Agneepath’, which featured Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, remained quite famous among the youth but the film failed at the Indian box office, which everyone perhaps doesn’t know.
However, the new ‘Agneepath’, released on January 26, 2012, broke recent opening day box office records, garnering Rs.25 crore. The collections have left behind figures of hits like 'Bodyguard' and 'RA.One', which made Rs.22 crore and Rs.18 crore, respectively. Therefore the delighted produce is now happy, as he thinks he has done justice to his father.
Karan Johar told to the reporters, “It’s my own revenge to the audience. Own son avenging his father’s flop (Laughs).
It’s strange thing that in perception Agneepath is not a flop. Only trade knows it. There are few films like Lamhe and Agneepath world doesn’t acknowledge as a failure. Youth loved it virally on videos and DVD world.”
He further ads, “I think we made this film is a big thing it’s a tribute to my father. It’s a special film for us it was not an easy task. To make a cult classic it comes with a lot of expectations and baggage.”
The new ‘Agneepath’ has featured superstar Hrithik Roshan as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan and Sunjay Dutt as Kancha Cheena. Meanwhile, Rishi Kapoor has played another negative role in the movie and former Miss. World Priyanka Chopra has been shown as Vijay’s love (Kaali).
The movie already had a lot of hype among the audiences, especially after Katrina Kaif’s item number ‘Chikni Chameli’ was launched.
Hrithik don’t want comparison with Amitabh Bachchan
01 week ago

Hrithik Roshan has been sitting on cloud nine after the big success of his latest release Agneepath. Going by the statistics, it is quite possible that Karan Johar’s remake film, directed by Karan Malhotra becomes the biggest blockbuster of India in the year 2012.
Hrithik Roshan has started receiving rave reviews for his role as the iconic Vijay Dinanath Chauhan immortalised by Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan made Vijay Dinanath Chauhan's character in the 1990 'Agneepath' iconic, but the film didn't do wonders at the box office. Almost two decades later now, Hrithik Roshan, who has reprised the role in its remake that has collected Rs.25 crore on the opening day, says it's unfair to compare the two actors.
Hrithik Roshan says it's unfair to compare the two actors. "You can't compare (with Amitabh). If you start comparing, I will fail in a second. I feel people are not saying that I have done as well (as Bachchan), but I think what they are saying is I have done well in my way and they are cheering for me," said Hrithik, who is receiving rave reviews for his performance.
"I don't even want to analyse. There are no comparisons in my head," added the 38-year-old actor.
Hrithik feels blessed with the response, but credits the entire team for the success.
"I feel blessed. I think this is what we live for. I am on centrestage but it's a victory for the entire team so I am representing all people - the light boys, the staff, the writers, music directors, the director, everybody is a part of this joy," he said.
"This is a tribute, a homage to the legend of 'Agneepath'," he added.

As per reports, Puri has met Rajni in Chennai and narrated the story idea to him. Rajni has liked the idea and will start working for the project once he wraps up his daughter Soundarya’s film. Rajni is very excited to work with Big B again and is looking forward to the film.
Puri, who has already worked with Big B in Buddah Hoga Tera Baap, confirmed the story and said, "Yes, I met Rajini Sir in Chennai. I've wanted to work with him for the longest time. So far I hadn't dared to approach him because I could not think of a role that would do him justice. It's been my life-long dream to direct Amitji and Rajini Sir."
Rajnikanth and Amitabh have been good friends for long time and in the past they have done Bollywood films like Andha Kanoon and Giraftar. The last time the two legends shared the screen space was in Late Director Mukul Anand's Hum in 1991.
If all goes well, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth are both going to ablaze the silver screen together again.

Bollywood Greek God Hrithik Roshan dismissed the news saying that he is directing Krissh 2 alongside papa Rakesh Roshan. Krrish 2 is the sequel to Krrish in which he reprises the role of a superhero.
