Salman Khan miffed with Angela Johnson

She is yet to enter Bollywood, but Kingfisher calendar girl Angela Jonsson is already grabbing headlines. Angela Jonsson, who came to fame after winning the Kingfisher Calendar Girl Hunt, is now expected to debut opposite the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Salman has been God-Father to many including Katrina Kaif, Zarine Khan, Sneha Ulal and now he is launching Angela Johnson in his home-production next year. But even before the pre-production has started, Salman is apparently not happy with the model.
Angela recently appeared in a cola ad opposite the south super star Mahesh Babu and model turned actor Sahil Shroff. The actress in the ad is seen performing stunts along with the two male stars. Seeing his soon-to-be leading lady doing a commercial has apparently upset Salman Khan for he doesn’t want Angela to be in the news for anything that could come in the way of her debut.
Some time back Angela was also rumoured to be dating Ranbir Kapoor merely for the sake of entering the film industry.
Moreover, it was also reported that she was responsible for the breakup between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Later there were also reports that Salman asked Angela to stay away from Tiger Shroff looking at their blooming friendship. Despite all the reports, whether true or false, the fact remains that Angela is surely going to grab headlines when she is publicly launched opposite Salman in the upcoming movie. For any newcomer, a launch with Salman is equal to hitting the jackpot.
Preity Zinta turns scriptwriter

After garnering loads of appreciation for her acting prowess all these years, Preity Zinta has turned to scriptwriting now.
Dimple-cheeked actress has co-scripted her forthcoming film 'Ishq in Paris'. Touted to be an original script, the movie was initially rumored to be an imitation of films like Sunrise, Sunset and Family Man, which according to the actress is untrue. It is an original scripted commercial Hindi film and also cannot be labeled as an Indo-French film.
This is the first time that Preity has tried her hands at story writing. But, she isn’t the first actor to do so as Salman Khan began the trend of actors reinventing careers in writing with 'Veer'. Aamir Khan too lately has joined the bandwagon as he will be co-writing the script for wife Kiran Rao along with Nuzhat (Mansoor’s sister) and Mansoor (Khan, his director cousin).

Happy Birthday, Chitrangada!
It's the dusky beauty Chitrangada Singh's birthday today. The actress turned 36 on 28th March, 2012. Married to Indian golf player Jyoti Randhawa, Chitrangada is best known for starring in the 2005 film HAZAARON KHWAISHEN AISI.

Fondly known as the 'Smita Patil' look alike, Chitrangada also performed as lead model in the video of hit music album by Altaf Raja 'Tum To Thehre Pardesi'.
When Chitrangda entered the industry, she did it through offbeat cinema. The former model from Delhi turned actor with Sudhir Mishra’s Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi in 2003. She followed it up with another lead role in Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow. Her performances received wide acclaim from critics and audiences, and she got herself a whole new legion of fans. Those very fans were heartbroken when she took a break of a few years to concentrate on her marriage. She came back with stellar performances in Sorry Bhai and Yeh Saali Zindagi. However, Chitrangda didn’t want to restrict herself to offbeat cinema and signed Desi Boyz. Her character of a sexy professor was totally different from the ones she had played till then. Fans and critics loved her and she proved she can carry off a variety of roles.
Chitrangda has a lot to look forward to in the coming year. Joker, which has her as an item girl for the first time, will release this August. She is also filming I Me Aur Main where she is cast opposite John Abraham. We are sure this year will bring her as much success in commercial films as she has got in offbeat ones. We wish her a happy birthday and a great year ahead.

Emraan gears up for his ‘massy’ film Jannat 2
03 weeks ago
To imagine Emraan Hashmi in a festival movie would be futile. Starting off as someone for the masses and building a career that has made him cover the distance from Bhatts to now Karan Johar, the man has an eventful year ahead in the form of Shanghai, Raaz 3 and Rush. However, one film which is being pitched as his most massy film till date is Jannat 2, the promos of which are currently on.
"Dibakar Banerjee has a certain sensibility and while he is a director par excellence, it is a wait and watch scenario to see how he has bridged the gap with Shanghai. The film deals with a social issue and Emraan has been roped in to bring in that much needed commercial angle to it. On the other hand, Raaz 3 is expected to be a quintessential Bhatt affair where Vikram, Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt are collaborating to create a film that would be an amalgamation of class and mass affair. However, there is no holding back when it comes to Jannat 2 as it is aimed at Emraan's strong fan base", says a source.
While makers of Shanghai and Raaz 3 are tight lipped about the content in the offering, director Kunal Deshmukh has gone all out to ensure that Jannat 2 brings him back in the reckoning as well.
"Kunal had made a good start with Jannat which was incidentally also Emraan's biggest success till then. However, they lost their way with Tum Miley which, in an attempt to be a mix of class and mass affair, ended up nowhere. It tried bringing in a love story in the middle of a disaster but audience wasn't really moved. Bhatts supported Kunal though and have given him another chance with Jannat 2. Kunal knew that he couldn't blow it away and has gone an extra mile to make it really hard hitting while being entertaining", informs a close associate.
This is pretty much evident from the teaser of Jannat 2 that has just been released. While it is apparent that the film is an action affair, it is also expected to be a volatile affair, courtesy a faceoff between Emraan and Randeep.
Says Mukesh Bhatt, "Why to hold back when you are making a film for the masses? There is no point being pretentious. Look at a Dabangg or a Wanted - these are the kind of films that do great business because they are mass entertainers. With Emraan in the film, why should we be pretentious? He is a man of the masses and this is how we want to project him."

Akshay Kumar loses out to Angela Jonsson

It seems the daredevil tag no longer belongs to Akshay Kumar. The actor, known for his machismo, seems to be losing the charm offlately. Akshay is not just restricted to comic roles on the silver screen, but is also losing his grip on the small tube. Our very own Khiladi Kumar has been replaced by a sexy model Angela Jonsson for a soft-drink commercial.
Akshay’s gravity defying stunts have been the talking point of the commercial all these years, but 2012 has something else in store for the actor. As he has been dropped from the commercial and the Kingfisher model will now let her beauty and oomph do the talking.
The new advert 'Aaj Kuch Toofani Karte Hain' has a fresh and energetic look to it and it shows the leggy lass Angela share screen space with south Indian action hero, Mahesh Babu and model-turned-actor Sahil Shroff.
The ad has already gone viral on the internet and only time will tell if the sexiness will able to defy the machismo.
Asin wants to focus only on commercial movies
03 weeks ago

After having ruled the South Indian film industry for the last few years, Asin got a grand entry into Bollywood with Aamir Khan's "Ghajini". After a scintillating debut opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini, Asin is being hailed as the next big import from Kollywood into Bollywood, inviting comparisons with the legendary Sridevi. And in her three years in the industry, she has already featured with actors like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn. In Housefull 2, she will be seen with Akshay Kumar.
"Right now I am concentrating on commercial space. If in commercial space I get a good character, then I will cope up with that. But not deviating from commercial cinema because it reaches out to a larger audience," Asin told IANS.
"I want to stay in the commercial space...within that space if I get a fleshy character. I would love to do it," added the 26-year-old.
Her first Hindi film, Ghajini was a huge commercial success of 2008. However, her next release "London Dreams" with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn bombed at the box office. In 2010 came "Ready" in which she once again teamed up with Salman and it was huge hit.
Now Kerala born beautiful Asin is looking forward to Sajid Khan's " Housefull 2", her fourth Hindi film, coming out April 5.
Refuting reports that she is extra choosy, Asin said: "I am not the one who is in a hurry to do a lot of things. I think I have my own taste something that I am comfortable with.
"I do things in my own way and not under pressure. I have been accused to be extra choosy and I don't take it into consideration."

Pakistani artists ruling Bollywood!
The likes of Atif Aslam, Ali Zafar, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, to name a few, have already made their mark in the competitive world of Bollywood.
Be it casting in the films, or delivering "hit" tracks for those very films, these Pakistanis have surely kept us quite entertained. This trend dates back to the era when Mehdi Hassan gave the most soul-stirring hits to the Indians.
Crossing over the border and making their presence felt in Bollywood with its larger viewer base and far-reaching influence has really helped these artists reach the peak of success in their respective careers. Their consistent work in the industry has lived upto the viewer's expectations and helped them prove their worth in the cut-throat entertainment business.
Ali Zafar's dashing looks, crooning voice, and acting talent has garnered him quite a fan following. His diverse roles in Tere Bin Laden, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and the recently released London Paris New York have got him critical acclaim as well as commercial success.
In the case of the famous uncle-nephew singer duo, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, their position in Bollywood as the Sufi authority is unparalleled. Not only have their soulful voices gained them commercial success, but has made them a household name in India.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, in particular, has been particularly active in Bollywood with movies such as Paap (2003), Singh is King (2007), My Name is Khan (2010), Dabangg (2010), among others, featuring his voice.
The man with the boyish good looks, the heart-throb who has mesmerized millions across the globe with his voice, the "Doorie" singer, Atif Aslam, is not far behind his counterparts. He too has made a place for himself in Bollywood with one of the highest female fan following shadowing his every move!
Continuing with the long list, others who have made a spot for themselves in B-Town include singer Adnan Sami and the recent controversy queen, Veena Malik.
One can only speculate over the reasons for these talented and gifted artists to migrate over the border; whether it be due to political tensions or the limited career expansion opportunities in Pakistan or for personal reasons, we sure are glad for their arrival!
Bollywood definitely like to thank them for providing us with countless hours of entertainment!

Actress Vidya Balan’s avatar as Silk Smitha, won her the best actress award at all the award events this year. Winning a National Award for her performance was not a big deal. However, the actress still can’t believe her eyes as she holds the prestigious trophy.
