Deepika Padukone opted out of ‘Race 2′

Bollywood leggy lass Deepika Padukone was in the news recently after she bagged the role of a female lead in the sequel of Abbas-Mustan's "Race 2". But according to latest developments, Deepika has opted out of the film due to date issues after shooting for four days. Deepika roped into Race 2 to act opposite Saif Ali Khan.
It is interesting to note that the lady signed Abbas-Mustan’s Race 2 a while back only but now she has taken her steps backward. This is the second high profile exit after Sonakshi Sinha walked out of the mega-cast project and was replaced by Jaqueline Fernandes.
Deepika Padukone seems to have decided to quit the Saif Ali Khan-John Abraham starrer over issues with dates. She was reportedly asked by Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji to choose between their ‘Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani’ and Abbas-Mustan's ‘Race 2’. Deepika was irritated by the constarnt change in the shooting schedule of the film due to which she finally chose to walk out of the fil.
However, ‘Race 2’ producer Ramesh Taurani is still confident that Deepika will work out fresh dates as she doesn't wish to disappoint him. She may allot May 2012 for ‘Race 2’. This delay may cost the project dearly because many stars' call sheets are involved. Besides, ‘Race2’ faces another problem too. Buzz is that Sonakshi Sinha, the other girl in the movie, is also exiting the project.

Bollywood is one place where relationships don't last forever. Bollywood leggy lass Deepika Padukone who was reportedly in a relationship with Siddharth Mallya, has hinted that she has split-up with her boyfriend Siddharth Mallya, son of liquor baron Vijay Mallya.
The actress took her BlackBerry Messenger to announce that she is no longer in a relationship.
When Siddharth Mallya walked in at Parmeshwar Godrej’s party for Oprah Winfrey minus his girlfriend Deepika Padukone, all his friends wanted to know why the actress did not turn up. However, the scion replied casually that Deepika was too busy shooting for a film. As per a leading website, on the same day, Deepika Padukone's status on her Blackberry showed a blank black frame along with the words, ‘Game Over.’
The ‘Love Aaj Kal’ actress has not only changed her status but has also changed the profile picture, which has clearly indicated that she is no more in a relationship. Padukone has updated her status as ‘Game Over’ and has also replaced her picture with a dark image.
Some of the close friends of the actress said that she was upset for a while and changed her BBM status for a day or two. But now everyone has come to know about the split.
News is that Deepika is renewing her love with Ranbir. He has gifted her piano when Deepika expressed Ranbir to take lessons on music. Their friendship is growing deeper with every passing day.

The couple has been under the media scanner ever since Deepika broke up with her then boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. DP and Jr Mallya were often seen at various events in each other’s company but they always maintained the “just friends” tag.
Now the latest buzz doing rounds is that Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Mallya have reportedly ended their two-year-old relationship. It had been sometime since the couple was spotted together, sparking rumours that they were headed for a split. The 26-year-old actress failed to show up at junior Mallya’s New Year bash, and he was also absent on her birthday party earlier this month.
According to the industry insiders, Mallya Jr even told a friend that "the relationship was not working for a long time and was also not leading to anything serious".
Deepika, meanwhile, is concentrating on her work. "She is putting up a brave front, concentrating on her work and hoping for the best", a source close to Deepika said.
According to reports, the reason for the split is her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, as she signed a film with her former flame, which irked Siddharth. Deepika was also spotted partying with ex beau Ranbir Kapoor on his 29th birthday.
Ranbir Kapoor recently gifted a piano to ex-flame Deepika when he came to know that she expressed an interest in learning music.

The last time Deepika Padukone and her billionaire boyfriend Sidhartha Mallya made a public appearance together was err eh errrrr, well, we guess at Arpita Khan’s party… It’s been almost three months now that the couple are seen together.
Things started to get evident when, Deepy wasn’t spotted at Sid’s new year bash. Even Sidharth was by his ladylove at her birthday party earlier this month.
A source closed to the star, talking about their strained relationship says, “Since August 2010, they have made several appearances together. But if you recall, they have been strangely cold and aloof while talking about their relationship. But all of us wanted to believe that they were headed for something stronger when Sidhartha dined with Deepika’s family.”
If rumors are to be believed, the tension between the couple started when Deepika signed a film opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Also it is heard that Ranbir Kapoor has been sending his ex gifts as a mark of their new-found friendship.
According to a few common friends, Sidhartha has talked about this tension to few of his friends that “the relationship is not working and heading nowhere.”

Last year Deepika Padukone had two releases to her name (AARAKSHAN and DESI BOYZ) which was far lesser than five of her films that had released a year ago. This year is seemingly lighter again, what with only two confirmed releases (****TAIL and RACE 2) in the pipeline though there are chances of YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI arriving as well. What's common though amongst these films is that each of these brings her back in the glamorous zone. For someone who did experimental films like AARAKSHAN and KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SE, it seems she has made a conscious call to apply break on such genres and do some out and out commercial films.

"Honestly, I don't like to segregate films like commercial, middle of the road, art house, new age etc.," says Deepika, "I don't wish to tell audience either to leave their brains behind or bring them along. Come on, a film is a film after all. It's only in India where segregation around commercial and art takes place."
