Happy Birthday Preity!

Once the darling of B-town with A-list directors lining up outside her house to cast her in their ambitious films, Preity Zinta has suddenly disappeared from the scene. The gorgeous actor can be spotted only in stadia waving the flag of her IPL team these days. Her talk show Up Close and Personal with PZ did not revive Preity’s career either and we really scratched our collective heads to recollect the film Preity had last worked in. Today the dimpled beauty celebrates her 37th birthday. Send your wishes!
After making her debut in Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se right alongside Shahrukh Khan in 1998 followed by an endearing performance in Soldier, Preity Zinta became every boy’s dream girl. Her dimpled smile, infectious chirpiness and decent acting made her every director’s ultimate choice too. She did a fabulous job in movies like Kya Kehna, Sangharsh, Koi Mil Gaya, Veer-Zaara, Salaam Namaste, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. She also bagged the Filmfare Award in the Best Actress category for her heartfelt performance in Kal Ho Naa Ho in 2003. Preity has also worked in Telugu, Punjabi and English films. Her Canadian Film Heaven On Earth, directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Deepa Mehta won Preity the Silver Hugo Award in the best actress category at the Chicago Film Festival in 2008.
Largely known in the media for being over-enthusiastic and speaking her mind, Preity is also the co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team Kings XI Punjab. Her ex-boyfriend business tycoon Ness Wadia is the co-owner of the same team. After a sabbatical of two years from Bollywood followed by Heaven on Earth, Preity chose to focus on other career prospects like managing her own media company PZNZ Media and her cricket team. Her talk show Up Close and Personal with PZ in spite of featuring A-list celebrities did not garner adequate TRPs. Preity is looking forward to her upcoming films Ishkq in Paris and Har Pal this year. As the effervescent diva turns 37 today, we wish her a great birthday and an eventful future.

Staying Alive
Staying Alive is a highly acclaimed film on the experiences of two completely different people. On one side there is Aditya Roy played by Anant Mahadevan the Assistant Editor of a magazine who suffers from a heart attack for the third time and on the other side there is an underworld don - Shaukat Ali - Saurabh Shukla who has suffered his first heart attack. Ravi Malhotra, an NRI living in the US, works for the mighty Larson & Jason, a US based multinational, which builds huge civil projects throughout the world like dams & bridges. One of its recent contracts in India, the Dharbhanga Dam project in Bihar at District Saurabhpur was planned & executed with a hundred year warranty, by their top architect & engineer Ravi Malhotra.
Within a few years three of the dam's gates are burst open, leaving hundreds of people dead, thousands are rendered homeless & public property worth crores washed down in floods. The Indian government is contemplating suing the company for damages worth millions. The company sends Ravi Malhotra to India to probe & investigate what exactly caused the damage.
Ravi finds out the shocking truth & hands over the file to the concerned authorities here and after that night he goes missing...The authorities & the police feel he has escaped to evade arrest as the Indian government & the law holds Ravi & his company Larsen & Jason solely responsible for the disaster.
All efforts to trace him are futile. After three months his distraught wife Anjali follows him to Saurabhpur.
From the moment she lands in India to eventually finding her husband, in the process rediscovering their love for each other.

Amitabh Bachchan enjoys flying Kites after 60 years
69-year-old Amitabh Bachchan, the Shehanshah of Bollywood and doyen of Indian cinema who has starred in more than 180 Bollywood films who is shooting in Gujarat for an ad campaign on tourism, said that flying kites for the shoot was full of fun and nostalgia, as he enjoyed the activity after a gap of almost 60 years.
Amitabh, who is the brand ambassador of Gujarat Tourism, is currently shooting for the second phase of 'Khushbu Gujarat Ki', a television ad campaign. The campaign includes Ahmedabad's famous kite-flying festival, for which, the mega star flew kites.
"Flew kites after almost 60 years! Shooting Uttarayan festival for tourism...such fun and nostalgia of School days !!,” Bachchan wrote on twitter.
The actor also posted a few pictures of himself enjoying the kite-flying activity and the crowd cheering him.
"Kite flying... on the roof, chanting and screaming of those around, bells, thali sound and the kite,"Bachchan said.
"People of Gujarat! A personal thank you for your love and affection, unpolluted, unreserved and filled with only love !!,” he said.
