Anushka Sharma fears bike rides! While filming a scene for Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, the actress literally freaked out sitting as a pillion on a bike ridden by Imran Khan.

The actress started shouting in panic when Imran Khan rode the bike full speed. Initially, everyone present on the sets thought that the actress was joking. However, Imran later realized that Anushka was a bike ride phobic.

He then assured the actress that he would ride the bike at a lesser speed and that she was safe with him. The shot went on smoothly, thereafter.

Imran Khan turns Singer for his next film

Imran Khan is flying high these days. Imran’s latest release ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu‘ has rocked the box office and the actor is in all time high demand. Imran’s ‘EMAET’ has grossed Rs.32 Crores in it’s opening weekend worldwide which makes the film hugely successful and as a result producers and corporate houses are vying for his attention.

Now the latest buzz is that Imran Khan is following his beloved mamu jaan's footsteps. After the perfectionist uncle lent his voice for a few songs, including the hit song Aati kya Khandala from Ghulam, now it seems that nephew Imran Khan has taken up the microphone to croon for a song in his upcoming flick Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola.

Sources have revealed that Imran Khan and co-star Pankaj Kapur have sung a song penned by veteran lyricist Gulzar for the Vishal Bhardwaj helmed flick and that the song, titled jalegi kaise has already been picturised.

We’ve been observing Imran’s look lately and not only have he grown a beard and learnt the rural Haryanvi dialect for the same. Imran also lost weight for the role and now his taken up the challenge of singing. No wonder director Vishal is praised for getting his actors out of there comfort zones!

Kishore Kumar, Bharat Bhushan, Geeta Dutt - singing actors took over the silver screen in 1950s and 1960s Bollywood. The trend revived when Amitabh Bachchan took to the recording studio to lend his voice to songs in his 1979 film Mr Natwarlal. Many actors have followed suit in later years. After Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, another Khan boy is ready to exercise his vocal chords. Thanks to filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj. Mirror has learnt that Imran Khan has lent his voice to what is being referred to as the ‘street song’ in Vishal’s next project Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola.

The song penned by Gulzar has been sung by Imran and his co-star Pankaj Kapur. In fact, it has already been picturised. A unit member revealed, “Imran is extremely excited about working with Vishal. The filmmaker too is fond of Imran. While shooting this sequence between Imran and Pankaj Kapur, everybody felt that the dialogues could be turned into a song.”

And that’s how the song was born. Gulzar had already written the dialogues and Vishal simply added music to it. The song has now been titled Jalegi Kaise.

A source close to Vishal confirmed the news and added, “Vishal loved the lyrics and the unit had a lot of fun shooting it.”

Karan Johar denies Kareena’s direction rumors

Kareena Kapoor is one of the most wanted actress in Bollywood right now. She is in high demand with back to back hits. Kareena is the one actress who has shared the screen with three khans of Bollywood. Her latest film, Ek Mein Aur Ek Tu, produced by Karan Johar, is currently running in theatres and her performance has got raving reviews from critics.

Rumours recently swirled that Kareena is all set to turn a Director soon. Producer Karan Johar is so impressed with the script writing and editing skills of Kareena Kapoor, which he has witnessed while the two interacted during the making of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, that he is considering giving the Bollywood actress an opportunity to direct a film in the days to come. Karan Johar might give Bebo a project to helm after she gets married to Saif Ali Khan.

When our sources enquired the producer about this news and he laughs, before saying, “No, that’s not true at all. As everyone knows, Kareena is a great actor and all she should ever do is act. Honestly speaking, I don’t think I will ever lumber the job of a director on her. She is too beautiful for that.” Apparently, the actor made a few worthwhile suggestions towards the script of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.

Rumour also has it that Karan is looking to cast Imran Khan and Kareena in another film. “I would love to. Their pairing has been accepted and people have loved them. So who knows, very soon, we’ll have a film with both of them again,” he says.

Trade figures have revealed that the Dharma Productions and UTV Motion Pictures film has collected about Rs 29 crore within five days of its release in the domestic market. It has apparently crossed the $2.3 million mark overseas.

Adds the elated filmmaker, “The movie has an unconventional feel and treatment, but yet, it was loved by the audiences. What I especially feel proud of is the fact that I have given the industry and my company two new voices through Karan Malhotra (director of Agneepath) and Shakun (director Batra of Ek Main Aur…) right at the onset of 2012. As for Kareena, we consider her to be our in-house Dharma girl. I am happy to see that she is being praised for her performance.”

Shahid’s Dharma dream foiled

Shahid Kapoor’s dreams of working with Karan Johar’s Dharma productions will have to wait for a while for fruition. The actor, who had been keen to star in Punit Malhotra’s next venture with the banner, has had to opt out due to date problems.
And this is no good news for the young filmmaker either. After his debut directorial I Hate Luv Storys, Punit had wanted Imran Khan for his next. The actor, busy with his Vishal Bhardwaj film Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola, had been unable to allot dates to Punit. That’s when Shahid had stepped in. However, now, even Shahid’s inclusion in the project isn't possible.





According to a source close to the project, “Shahid, Punit and KJo had multiple meetings. This was going to be Shahid’s first film with Dharma. Everything was going great until Maneesh Sharma had a slip disc.”

Maneesh’s illness has pushed the schedule for his next film to July-August. That’s the time when Punit's film goes on floors too. Shahid, who had already committed to Maneesh's project, thus had to opt out of the Dharma venture.

“Shahid spoke to Karan about it. It was a mutual decision. They have decided to do another film together,”
