Salman plays it safe with Ash at Tendulkar’s party
03 weeks ago
Sachin Tendulkar scored his 100th century on March 16, in the fourth match of the Asia Cup against Bangladesh in Mirpur; but at a party thrown by the Ambanis to celebrate that ton of tons on Monday – a different kind of game was played out.

And the leading player at this glittering do, hosted by Nita and Mukesh Ambani at their Altamont Road residence Antilla in Mumbai, was none other than Bollywood’s big scorer Salman Khan.
The party, as is known, was the Ambanis’s gesture dedicated to the Master Blaster and their Mumbai Indians IPL skipper, in honour of his achievement. And invited to it, were the A-list of Page 3 types, including the city’s who’s-who, Bollywood stars, cricketers, and captains of industry.
Bollywood, it must be mentioned – led by Amitabh Bachchan himself, was among the first cricket aficionados and Tendulkar fans to tweet congratulatory messages, when the master batsman scored his 100th ton. So its presence at the Ambani party was natural.
What was not natural, however, was the attendance of Salman at this party. The last time the Ambanis hosted a similar bash for Tendulkar in 2009 at their Cuffe Parade residence Seawind, and Salman was conspicuous by his absence. That party was anchored by Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and also had an impressive Bollywood line-up.
And not only did Salman show up this time, but he played the perfect gentleman by keeping a respectable distance from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who had come with husband Abhishek. According to a source, "Salman was at his sober best, he was dressed in formal attire, and with great dignity walked into greet and meet hall and took a corner seat." He was joined by his Dabangg co-star Sonakshi Sinha, her father Shatrughan, and old friend Raj Thackeray; while Aishwarya and Abhishek sat at the opposite end with Hrithik and Susanne Roshan and Ekta Kapoor.
"When Salman was asked to share a few thoughts about the man of the evening, he took the mike and spoke extempore, keeping the audience in splits with his ready wit and charm. And, though she sat just a few feet away from him on the podium, Salman studiously refrained from looking in Ash’s direction,” added the source. Abhishek was seen applauding Chulbul Pandey's heartfelt speech.
Even after the ceremony, when vegetarian delicacies and wine were being served at the roof top food court on Antilla, Salman successfully kept aloof from the crowd until Aamir Khan accompanied by Tendulkar and the Ambani couple joined him for a short animated discussion. Harbhajan Singh with Geeta Basra, Sushmita Sen and Virender Sehwag were others, who kept the Dabangg Khan busy, with Virat Kohli taking muscle building tips from Sallu bhai.
Another highlight of the evening was the scene of Priyanka Chopra, the Master of Ceremonies for this grand occasion, who is known to be close to Shah Rukh Khan, giving Salman a hug before the actor graciously departed from the venue stating he had an early shoot for Dabangg 2.
Our hundred dollar question: was there any tension in the air because of these subtle theatrics? Our source said, “You bet… as much as when Sachin Tendulkar was on 99 and waiting to score his 100th hundred at Mirpur that day!”

Salman,Tusshar is much bigger than Sachin – KRK
03 weeks ago

Bollywood filmmaker and actor Kamal Rashid Khan(KRK) who is well-known for his contentious comments on several Bollywood personalities took a dig at none other than Indian Cricket God Sachin Tendulkar.
KRK on his twitter account expressed shock and surprise that Salman Khan had gone to the Ambani party to congratulate Sachin Tendulkar on his 100th ton.
KRK tweeted, “Last night Salman also went for celebration of Mahashatak. He went for Sachin or ambani? As I know Sachin n Salman do not know each other.(sic)”
KRK then narrated an account to his followers that few years back the film actor and the cricketer were working out in the same gym in Colombo and none of them bothered to acknowledge the other. He tweeted, “Salman n Sachin didn`t greet each other because they both consider bigger than each other. #truth(sic).”
KRK then further added, “From my point of view Salman khan is much much bigger than Sachin so Sachin would have gone to Salman khan to say hello.(sic)”
KRK also stated that till the time Sachin was leading IPL team, Mumbai Indians they wouldn’t be able to win the championship. When his followers and die hard Sachin fans objected to his statement, Khan defiantly wrote, “Till today i have never abused Sachin then why do ppl say I hate him? I say Tushar Kapoor is bigger than Sachin so what? It`s my wish yar.(sic)”
KRK came down heavily on the master blaster saying that the Indian batsman had not done even one percent of charity compared to Salman Khan.
KKR tweeted: “Many people in their dreams also have not done as much charity as Salman has done. Sachin has not done even 1% charity of Salman. That is for India.”
“Sachin has not given money to his biggest bhakt Yuvraj Singh also and Salman has given him huge amount. This is called big heart.”

Happy Birthday Preity!

Once the darling of B-town with A-list directors lining up outside her house to cast her in their ambitious films, Preity Zinta has suddenly disappeared from the scene. The gorgeous actor can be spotted only in stadia waving the flag of her IPL team these days. Her talk show Up Close and Personal with PZ did not revive Preity’s career either and we really scratched our collective heads to recollect the film Preity had last worked in. Today the dimpled beauty celebrates her 37th birthday. Send your wishes!

After making her debut in Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se right alongside Shahrukh Khan in 1998 followed by an endearing performance in Soldier, Preity Zinta became every boy’s dream girl. Her dimpled smile, infectious chirpiness and decent acting made her every director’s ultimate choice too. She did a fabulous job in movies like Kya Kehna, Sangharsh, Koi Mil Gaya, Veer-Zaara, Salaam Namaste, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. She also bagged the Filmfare Award in the Best Actress category for her heartfelt performance in Kal Ho Naa Ho in 2003. Preity has also worked in Telugu, Punjabi and English films. Her Canadian Film Heaven On Earth, directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Deepa Mehta won Preity the Silver Hugo Award in the best actress category at the Chicago Film Festival in 2008.

Largely known in the media for being over-enthusiastic and speaking her mind, Preity is also the co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team Kings XI Punjab. Her ex-boyfriend business tycoon Ness Wadia is the co-owner of the same team. After a sabbatical of two years from Bollywood followed by Heaven on Earth, Preity chose to focus on other career prospects like managing her own media company PZNZ Media and her cricket team. Her talk show Up Close and Personal with PZ in spite of featuring A-list celebrities did not garner adequate TRPs. Preity is looking forward to her upcoming films Ishkq in Paris and Har Pal this year. As the effervescent diva turns 37 today, we wish her a great birthday and an eventful future.
The very pretty Preity turns 36 today!
DESIRULEZ.. wishes the actress a Very Happy Birthday.

SRK lost his cool…

Shah Rukh Khan has always conducted himself impeccably with his fans and the media, even when the going got very tough.
Be it while defending his films from criticism or while talking about the flailing fortunes of his IPL venture, he has maintained the utmost dignity. But recently, when the topic changed to gossip about his personal life, SRK suddenly lost his cool.
The incident took place at a party held for the nominees of a prestigious awards ceremony. The superstar was giving interviews to a TV channel when a scribe asked him about his personal equation with Juhi Chawla, who SRK had walked in with. But the question touched a raw nerve with the King Khan.
“It was a casual question and not meant to give offence. But SRK seemed enraged. Things reached a head when he verbally abused the hapless reporter, who just froze,” a witness recounts.
The officials connected to the awards didn’t want word of the incident to leak out — understandably, they don’t want to further upset SRK. “Shah Rukh anyway seemed to be in a bad mood, and the reporter’s question ticked him off,” a source at the venue added.
So we now know ki SRK ko gussa kyun aata hai..

Aamir’s next titled Talaash
Aamir Khan has finally found a suitable title for his under-production film, which is being directed by Reema Kagti and stars Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji as the leading ladies.
The suspense thriller, which is being co-produced by Aamir along with actorproducer-director Farhan Akhtar and his business partner of a decade, Ritesh Sidhwani, is now officially called Talaash. The producer trio and the director had been brainstorming on the title for a few months now. Like the genre of the movie, the name too has remained a mystery for the unit members, since the film went on the floors earlier this year.
For the last few months, since there was no official or working title announced, names like An Act Of Murder, Razdaar and Dhuaan were floating around, and used everywhere in the public domain, including on websites like IMDB and Wikipedia.
Aamir, who is collaborating with his co-producers a decade after Dil Chahta Hai (2001), says, "We'd never titled it Dhuaan. We don't know where the name came from. It's a suspense movie and there's little patchwork left on it. I've shot an underwater sequence in London with Kareena during the Diwali week. It gets a little annoying to answer questions posed with the wrong name of the film."
The actor will be involved in every stage of the film's post-production in the capacity of both, lead actor and producer. Talaash will be the first big release after the IPL wraps up next year. The film's release date was pushed from January 26 to June 1 due to technical reasons.
In the midst of post-production, the actor will also be shooting for his first non-fiction TV show based on social issues, which his company, Aamir Khan Productions, is producing. The show, once again, doesn't have a title. The actor-producer-director laughs, "It's a bit weird. Even here, we've not found a suitable title yet. But once we do, there will be an official announcement. Please don't title it before we do."
