0

Mum-to-be, actress Aishwraya Rai-Bachchan’s turning a year older today and is glowing with happiness with all the pampering she’s been treated to in the past few months. Also, with the due date of the actor (said to be sometime in the second week of November) drawing close, apparently, hubby actor Abhishek Bachchan’s already worked out his shoot schedules to ensure that there are no outdoor shoots happening at least for a month now. He will be a busy guy today, as sources reveal that apparently there’s a birthday bash being planned for wifey dear later in the evening. Interestingly, there was much buzz about the baby expected to be a 1/11/11 baby and share the mum’s birthdate. But now insiders suggest that the baby is most likely to arrive sometime in mid-November.

About the party being planned to celebrate the day, sources say that it is expected to be a grand affair. “The Bachchans are apparently planning to host a get-together in Jalsa today in the evening. Besides close family members, several people from the industry are expected to be present as well,” says a source. According to another insider, Ash was keen to start her day by visiting a temple as she does every year, but this time she will probably have to make do with a puja at home. “However, the Bachchans are quite a regular in these matters, so one never knows,” the insider adds.

A source, who’s been in touch with Aishwarya, says that the actor is not anxious with her due date nearing, but quite calm and extremely happy. “She is making the most of this break and enjoying being pampered by her family. In fact, all the while that Abhishek was away, he would call up every hour to check in on her, just so she not miss him being by her side,” the source revealed.

According to the source, parents-in-law Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan are apparently planning to gift their bahu expensive jewllery, while hubby Abhishek’s planning on gifting a car. Buzz is also rife that she might even be gifted a new house, though there has been no confirmation yet.

Jaya Bachchan in the dock over false affidavit case

Well-known actress turned Rajya Sabha member Jaya Bachchan is once again in the dock for allegedly swearing a false affidavit about the properties owned by her and her megastar husband Amitabh Bachchan

Lucknow district judge Shivanand Misra on Monday issued notice to Jaya Bachchan to explain why she should be criminally prosecuted for concealing certain properties owned by her husband in the statutory affidavit submitted by her together with the nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha bye-election way back in 2006.

Jaya has been summoned to the court on February 3, the next date for hearing in the case, that could cost Jaya her prized Rajya Sabha status, disclosed advocate Sangam Lal Pande, who has been spearheading the legal battle.

This follows a long cat and mouse sequence between Jaya and complainant Ameer Haider, a lesser known Congress leader from Barabanki where the undeclared plots of agriculture land were purchased by the Bachchans.

Big B refuses to work with Mallika Sherawat

0
Amitabh Bachchan has refused to share screen space with the sexy lady, Mallika Sherawat. Director Kushan Nandy has approached Big B to work in a film with the Murder actress but he said no. Big B is not keen to work with the actress who is well-known for her sexy image rather than her films.

Jaya Bachchan also holds the same view about Mallika and she has also suggested her hubby not to work with the actress who is more popular for her sexy avatar than her performance in films. Mallika has once delivered an embarrassing statement about the megastar. She said that she would like to see Mr. Bachchan running in slow motion as she feels that he would look really sexy in this action. The statement of Mallika embarrassed the actor.

Mallika already told the director that if he could get Amitabh Bachchan to act alongside her then only she would sign the project. Kushan Nandy is now looking for another actress to pair opposite Amitabh.

Katrina Kaif And Salman Khan To Play Bachchan And Jaya Bachchan on The Big Screen

The latest buzz from B-town is that real-life couple Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan have been offered to portray the Bachchans on the big screen. What a weird idea, who would want to see this movie? But brace yourselves Kat and Sallu fans, it gets weirder! The on-and-off-screen couple wouldn’t portray Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her hubby Abhishek Bachchan, they would play Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan! Why would Katrina and Salman ever agree to such a crazy idea? And what would this movie talk about? We are confused!
But wait, it gets crazier – as if this wasn’t crazy enough! According to the buzz, Katrina would portray Big B and Salman would play Jaya. We do like alternative movies with a plot twist or two, but this is just odd! Seeing Salman play Big B and Katrina play his wife Jaya could at least have been humorous, but the other way around? It doesn’t sound like a movie a lot of fans would enjoy.

But who knows? Maybe the film will turn out to be hilarious. After all, Big B and Abhi did something similar in the movie Paa in which Abhishek played the father and Amitabh his son. It seems like the Bachchans are really into these types of movies! Getting the look for Bachchan senior’s role was a very complicated affair.

Big B even took to his blog to explain how much fun he had: “my rituals today were guided by the extensive hours at the studio, a major portion of which were in front of the makeup mirror, getting the face plastered with silicon. It took 4 hours for it all to come on and another hour to take it off. ”

We can only imagine that something similar would have to be worked out if Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan were ever to portray Bachchan senior and his wife on the silver screen! Would you like to see Kat and Sallu play Big B and Jaya in a movie? Drop us a line.

Abhishek Bachchan’s BAFTA London Interview

0

The UK played host to Abhishek Bachchan at The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), which recognized the star's cinematic achievements. In a career spanning over forty films, the critically and commercially successful actor recently took his first steps into film production with the award winning Paa in 2009. The London venue also saw Amitabh Bachchan make an unexpected appearance in support of his son, inducing near hysteria in the audience. Also in attendance were Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai who had flown in on Friday morning from Mumbai. The interview marked the launch of Tongues on Fire 12th London Asian Film Festival, running from 5 - 14 March. BollySpice was there and we have got the inside scoop!

Dressed in a black Nehru jacket, Abhishek cut a striking figure on stage throughout the ninety minute session. On the rising popularity of Bollywood in the West, and its overseas box office success, the actor says, "Indian films are being exhibited now better than before." The star also discussed the differences between Bollywood and Hollywood, "The recent interest in Indian cinema is for what it is and not what it could become. In 3 hours you experience everything, even if we do it in rather garish costumes, we do it with great fanfare." Clips from some of Abhishek's biggest hits including Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Guru and Dostana were shown, and a montage of the actor on celluloid screened to the beat of 'Rock n Roll Soniye'.

The actor relayed his initial struggles in the film industry, after his first seventeen films flopped at the box office, "I went to my father and said I've made a mistake. I've worked with directors who have only seen success and I've introduced them to failure." Abhishek believes the best advice given by his screen legend father Amitabh Bachchan is, "Don't sleep as much. Get up early and get out there". "That's what wakes me up in the morning," states Abhishek. The BAFTA interview brought a touch of Bollywood magic to London - with a dash of comedy, a hint of tragedy, and in Abhishek Bachchan, a larger than life hero.

Big B goes gaga over wife Jaya’s film beliefs

0
Last seen in Yash Raj Films’ Laaga Chunari Mein Daag in 2007, Jaya Bachchan is back with low-budget venture Lovesongs and her husband Amitabh Bachchan says she has to believe in the filmmaker and the movie to take up the role.”She has this inclination of wanting to be associated in ventures… that she will feel strongly about – socially, morally, woman centric, purposeful and one that she would believe in even when the film is out of the cans. Her basis of selection must adhere to one of the others mentioned above. Not always. But yes, generally,” Amitabh posted on his blog early on Sunday morning from London.”She must also have a connect with the (film)maker. There must be an area of level thought and feel. She will look for a quality that endears her to him or her personally.

It is not all about work and profession, it’s about whether she will be able to build a relation. The production or the set becomes her home then,” he added.Big B, 67, further threw light on his wife of 37 years bonding with a film and crew.”She will look at it with individual and personal interest. If the surroundings are not clean she will clean it, point out irregularities that do not suit or agree with her aesthetics. Crew and colleagues become her friends. She will sit with them in the make-up room, not necessarily to discuss the next shot or scene or to be learning her lines but, to chat informally, as if at home,” he wrote.”To become an element of their troubles and disclosures if there be. To suggest, advise.Become a confidante to. I find them over at the house often, more out of social need than one that could be professional. Their troubles become hers, their joys and accomplishments her ecstasy.

And they remain so, even when the disconnect on the completion of a project occurs,” he added.Amitabh also pointed out at the contrast in his wife and himself regarding their nature.”I, on the other hand, find myself quite the other. Got a job to do, get out there, give it the desired input and out. No interference in the others or other. No business of mine. Pack your bags after the day is over and homeward bound. Yes whenever there is an approach for a personal moment from the other, indulge I must and do. But never the initiator,” he posted.

“Two rather opposite qualities and each with their very definite presence and importance. The former endearing and affectionate, the latter distant and aloof,” he added.
