Lara Dutta denies writing memoir about Motherhood

Bollywood actress Lara Dutta who married tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi last year, delivered a healthy baby girl on Jan 20th. If you have been wondering what the lovely Lara Dutta is up to, you would be glad to know that Lara is enjoying every bit of her motherhood. And this time in response to the reports, she clarifies that I am not in a plan to write a book about her pregnancy.

Lara tweeted, "Woken up to a great morning with my kid. Feels like someone gave me the key to a secret bliss club that no one told me about!:-) And contrary to what the newspapers say, I'm DEFINITELY NOT writing any memoir on my pregnancy! Thought there was enough news in the country."

It seems that Bollywood actor and actress are playing to get away from people and wishing for a private life as well. Earlier, As Bachchan has not yet disclosed the name and picture of Beti B and now Lara is not in a plan pen down her pregnancy.

Meanwhile Lara Dutta is extremely busy taking care of her little daughter. She recently wrote on the microblogging site twitter, “Up and running from pretty early in the mornin!Fastest way 2 lose weight?? Have a baby!!:-).Even my sister has lost some! From just helping!”

Bollywood express grief over Raj Kanwar’s death

Bollywood celebrities expressed sorrow over the death of “Gentleman”, “humble” and “ever smiling Director Raj Kanwar, who died Friday in Singapore after suffering a kidney ailment.

Raj Kanwar, one of the most successful filmmakers of the 1990s, passed away in Singapore on Friday. He was 50. He gave Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta their big screen breaks and paired Aishwarya Rai with Abhishek Bachchan for the first time in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke.

Bollywood took to twitter to express their condolences:

"My friend Raj Kanwarji passed away. The impermanence of life, makes one feel so helpless. May his soul rest in peace. Aisi Deewangi..miss u sir," Shahrukh Khan tweeted.

Priyanka Chopra: Saddens me so much, my 1st director Raj Kanwar passed away… RIP Rajji… U believed in me when even I didn’t. ‘Andaaz’ taught me everything I know.

International talk show queen Oprah Winfrey chose to go truly Indian on her maiden India visit as she draped an orange and golden sari as she went to meet Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai and her newborn, nicknamed Beti B, here Monday night.

Winfrey, who hosted Aishwarya and Abhishek on her popular talk show in 2009, arrived here Monday. If sources are to be believed, meeting Beti B, who was born Nov 14 last year, was among the first things Winfrey wanted to do upon her arrival.



So, even before heading for a private party organised in her honour at socialite Parmeshwar Godrej's residence, Winfrey decided to make a trip to the Bachchan residence to meet Ash and the baby at their residence Jalsa in Juhu.



The media parked outside Jalsa could only catch a glimpse of the 57-year-old as she entered the house around 8.15 p.m. She kept to the traditional look by teaming up her sari with golden bangles.



Winfrey left the house around 9.30 p.m. and that too in a car, driven by megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Abhishek sat beside his father in the front seat, while Aishwarya and Winfrey sat behind.



The media mogul is in India to shoot for her new show "Next Chapter", which will see Winfrey travelling around the world and interviewing celebrities.



She is scheduled to attend the forthcoming Jaipur Literature Festival.



Socialite Parmeshwar Godrej is hosting the party for the 57-year-old iconic lady at her Mumbai residence.



This is Winfrey's first visit to India and it is is largely a part of her new show "Next Chapter", which will see Winfrey travelling around the world and interviewing celebrities. She is accompanied on her India trip by spiritual guru Deepak Chopra.



It was an action-packed evening for B-town, which saw many well-known figures and celebrities.



Preity Zinta, who was on the star-studded guest list too, enjoyed the party, but it turned into a bad experience when her car ended up getting damaged due to paparazzi.



A very pregnant Lara Dutta turned up sans her husband Mahesh Bhupathi. "@Oprah and @iamsrk, two people I absolutely adore! Thankyou for making my day! Now can go into labour happily! :-)", she tweeted.



Meanwhile Mahesh also tweeted, "Wife going to dinner with @Oprah tonight,annoyed that i will miss it.How often does one get to meet the most influential Woman in the World?," expressing his disappointment over giving the event a miss.



Another yummy mom-to-be diva, Shilpa Shetty also turned up without her better half. Shilpa looked gorgeous in her Maroon gown.

Lara Dutta To Take a Short Maternity Break

Lara Dutta is not planning to take a very long maternity leave. After her baby at the end of February, she plans to produce a film in May and says she may or may not feature in it.

"I am definitely producing another film in May 2012. Yes, it will have me in the lead. And again, like 'Challo Dilli' where my co-star was Vinay Pathak, the pairing would be very unconventional. In case I can't get before the camera I will produce another film without me in the cast in May and then do a film with me in the lead from August," she said.

Lara, who tied the knot with tennis player Mahesh Bhupati this year, says this is a crucial time for the couple. "Mahesh has the Olympics. I've motherhood to look forward to. So we've other important commitments. But I most certainly plan to remain an actress and a producer. It's something that I learnt from Shah Rukh Khan during 'Don 2'.

"He told me he was happy to see actresses turning producers and advised me to continue with my career," said the former beauty queen. For now, the 33-year-old is all charged up for motherhood.
"It's by far the most important role of my life. But there are other roles too. Those cannot be marginalized. I don't do anything half-heartedly. I never became an actress to enhance my bank balance. The zeroes in my cheques never mattered. All the work that I've done so far as an actress is what I really believed in."
After debuting with 'Andaaz' in 2003, she did films like 'No Entry', 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom', 'Partner' and 'Housefull'.

She also featured in 'Don 2' and said: "It's a small role. I did it because I wanted to work with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani and with Shah Rukh Khan."

On a more serious note, Lara is set to produce a pre-natal yoga video.
"Pregnancy is treated almost like an illness in some sections of our society. I've been my normal self during pregnancy. I want other women, who get nervous and anxious, to experience the same comfort level and to not feel awkward about their weight or baby bump. Have I been conducting myself with dignity and grace? I don't claim any exclusivity on the condition that I am in. I just feel motherhood should be a happy stress-free period for all women," she said.

Asked whether she wants a boy or a girl, she said: "Mahesh and I have no preferences. We're just happy we'll be parents."

Friday Releases: ‘Don2′, ‘Chipwrecked’ in theatres

Don 2 releases worldwide on Friday, December 23rd, and with the first Don 2 movie reviews coming in, it seems that Shahrukh Khan has a box office blockbuster on his hand. For SRK fans, Don 2 is everything Ra.One was not.



Don 2 is the sequel to Don : The Chase Begins Again (2006) which was the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan classic, the original DON. Frahan Akhtar has masterfully carried the plot forward and given us an action packed thriller, and even though Don 2 was not planned while Don was in making, it sure seems like Don 3 will be in the offing soon. With positive reviews coming in, the movie should see an amazing start at the box office on Friday.

Talking about Don 2, incidentally it is the first Bollywood film to be shot in Germany. The movie has a breathtaking stunt in which Shahrukh Khan jumps from a high-rise in Berlin. No body-double was used in the stunt.

The movie is written by Ameet Mehta, Amrish Shah and Farhan Akhtar and directed by Farhan. SRK plays the elusive Don, Priyanka Chopra reprises her role as Roma, Boman Irani is back as Vardhaan the notorious underground criminal, and a few new faces Lara Dutta as Ayesha, Kunal Kapoor as Sameer Ali, and newcomer Saahil Shroff is playing a cop on Don’s trail. The film’s music has been composed by Shanker-Ehsaan-Loy. Lyrics are by Javed Akhtar.

Farhan has taken a different route to promoting Don 2, unlike Ra.One which suffered from marketing overkill even before the release of the movie, and even though Don has been one of the most talked about movies all year, the marketing was never in-your-face.

Don 2 should bode well for SRK and Priyanka Chopra who have not had a hot year at the box office. Though this year Salman Khan was the undisputed king at the box office with Bodyguard setting an all-time record, box office collection comparisons between the two are bound to be made.

Don 2 will be released worldwide on the Christmas weekend of 23 December 2011 in both 2D and 3D versions. It has also been dubbed in Telugu and Tamil.



This slick action packed thriller will not disappoint Shahrukh fans!
