Bollywood stars Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone bagged a Golden Kela award each at the fourth edition of the annual event which celebrates the worst in Hindi Cinema.

While Imran won the worst actor for his performance in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Deepika was named the worst actress for her role in Aarakshan.

Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One was named the worst film while its helmer Anubhav Sinha won the worst director Golden Kela award this evening.

The worst supporting actor award was given to Prateik Babbar for his roles in Dum Maaro Dum and Aarakshan.

Kanti Shah, producer and director of a bevy of B-grade Hindi films, was given the Platinum Kela award for his excellence in cinema.

"I'm feeling good at being invited at the event. It's special because its been organised by true fans of my style of movie-making. I have been to other award shows as well, but this definitely is special," said Shah on receiving the award.

Besides honouring the worst in cinema, the awards also appreciated Arunodoy Singh's performance in Sudhir Mishra-directed Yeh Saali Zindagi by handing him the Anti-Kela. The trophy was presented to him by last year's winner, Abhishek Sharma (director, Tere Bin Laden).

"I think Sudhir should be the one accepting this. I'm quite honored and amused with this award. It's good to see this movie getting some recognition," said Arunoday.

SRK sidelines Arjun, offers Ra.One sequel to Aamir Khan

0

The rift between Shah Rukh Khan and friend Arjun Rampal has become wider. After cutting off from Arjun personally by being absent from his recent party, SRK has now gone ahead to cease professional terms with the actor.

Shah Rukh has offered perfectionist Aamir Khan a role in the sequel to his home-production ‘Ra.One’. Reports suggest that Aamir has liked the script and might sign on the dotted line soon. If this collaboration falls into place, it’ll surely be one the biggest films Bollywood will ever witness. The news of clashes amongst all the Khans that has often distributed their fan following will also come together with the film.

However, we wonder what route SRK-Arjun bond (if at all it exists anymore) will take, for SRK seems to be in no mood to settle things between them.

John Abraham is all set for a new innings in Bollywood - this time as a producer of films. The actor’s production house JA Entertainment Pvt. Ltd has its first release Vicky Donor next month. But, unlike other actors-turned-producers, John doesn’t always intend to act in his own productions. And the stars of his first production are TV actors Ayushmaan Khurrana and Yami Gautam. Even before its release comes the news that Producer John has another project in mind, this time Aditya Bhattacharya’s Kala Ghoda which will be under the banner of JA Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. At the time, little is known about Kala Ghoda beyond it being an action film based on Mumbai's underbelly and the seamier side of life. But, reports are the action is a notch higher than John's gritty and bloody Force of 2011.

Other examples of actors who have turned producers are Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. SRK owns Red Chillies Entertainment and has been seen in all the films produced by this banner starting from Main Hoon Na and including Paheli in 2005, Om Shanti Om in 2007, Billu in 2009 and Ra.One last year. Aamir Khan launched Aamir Khan Productions with Lagaan in 1999 and since then, acted in almost all the movies he produced - including Taare Zameen Par in 2007 and Dhobi Ghat in 2010, but for Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na in 2008, Peepli Live in 2010 and Delhi Belly last year. The actor's next film, Talaash, is also co-produced by his Aamir Khan Productions. Akshay Kumar started Hari Om Productions with Singh is Kinng in 2008 and then acted in all the films from De Dana Dan in 2009, Khatta Meetha, Action Replayy and Tees Maar Khan in 2010, Patiala House and Thank you in 2011. In 2012, Akshay will be seen in Rowdy Rathore and Joker, which will also under his banner Hari Om Productions. Saif Ali Khan started Illuminati Films in 2009 and acted in its first production Love Aaj Kal, including Agent Vinod in 2012. The upcoming releases of the same banner are ****tail and Go Goa Gone in 2013 starring Saif Ali Khan.

Shahrukh’s surprise gift for ‘Ra.One’ director

0

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan indeed has a heart of gold. Shahrukh Khan sure is generous especially when it comes to his friends. Shahrukh Khan was at his generous best when he surprised his Ra.One director Anubhav Sinha by settling his huge bill in London.

Sources close to him claim that King Khan loves to take care of people who really matter to him. And this time, the recipient of his largesse was none other than ‘Ra.One’ director and good friend Anubhav Sinha.

A tabloid reports that during a recent trip to London, Sinha was pleasantly surprised when SRK dropped in to visit him at his hotel in central London. The duo chatted for a while before the actor left. But a bigger surprise awaited Sinha who found that the entire bill of his three-day stay, amounting to Rs 2 lakh had been cleared by Shahrukh on his way out!

Apparently, King Khan had quietly enquired with the hotel management about Sinha’s dues and had paid them on his behalf. It was his way of thanking Sinha who helped him realise his long-cherished dream to make a super-hero film. Naturally, the director was completely overwhelmed with this gesture and can’t stop singing his producer’s praises.

It looks like the tepid box office performance of ‘Ra.One’ hasn’t affected this friendship at least!
