Agent Vinod banned in Pakistan… Saif calls it a shame!

Pakistan’s Censor board has banned the release of ‘Agent Vinod’ in her country. Saif Ali Khan calls it a shame.
Why is the film banned in Pak?
Well, since the film contains references to the ISI that is likely to hurt the sentiments of Pakistani people, the film has been banned.
“It is a shame that the movie is banned, with no offence to anyone, as the idea is to have open films between the two countries.
I was proud that this film was to release there,” Saif said at an event.
“In fact the heroine in our film is a Pakistani girl. We were hoping that they would appreciate that,” he added.
Saif plays RAW agent in the film alongside girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. “Agent Vinod” has drawn references from the real-life tension between Pakistan and India.
“This is a realistic kind of a thriller. We have shown that there are some negative elements in Pakistan towards India and their Censor have a problem showing that. “We have shown a few most-wanted criminals, those that are harbored in Pakistan, which is a known fact. May be they have taken offense to that.
But ultimately we want a RAW agent to win and baddies to lose. “If they are uncomfortable with that then they should publicise that fact that they are banning Agent Vinod in Pakistan,” said Saif.
“Pakistan forms a large portion of our audience. The minute you put a censorship or ban, people will make sure they watch it. And we want them to see the film. In fact we wanted them to see the mujra performed by Kareena. “It is a shame that they could not see the film in the best way possible. But we tried our best,” said Saif.
Agent Vinod releases in India on March 23.

One of the most anticipated films of 2012, 'Agent Vinod' starring Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, directed by Sriram Raghavan is slated for release on this friday March 23. The Bollywood film has been banned in Pakistan as the movie contains references to the ISI that could hurt the sentiments of Pakistani people.
Actor-producer Saif Ali Khan who is pinning high hopes on "Agent Vinod" has said it is a shame that Pakistan's Censor board has banned the release of "Agent Vinod" in that country. "It is a shame that the movie is banned, with no offence to anyone, as the idea is to have open films between the two countries. I was proud that this film was to release there," Saif said at an event here today.
"In fact the heroine in our film is a Pakistani girl. We were hoping that they would appreciate that," he added. The 41-year-old actor, who plays a RAW agent in the film with girlfriend Kareena Kapoor in the female lead, said that "Agent Vinod" has drawn references from the real-life tension between Pakistan and India.
"This is a realistic kind of a thriller. We have shown that there are some negative elements in Pakistan towards India and their Censor have a problem showing that. "We have shown a few most-wanted criminals, those that are harboured in Pakistan, which is a known fact. May be they have taken offence to that. But ultimately we want a RAW agent to win and baddies to lose.
"If they are uncomfortable with that then they should publicise that fact that they are banning Agent Vinod in Pakistan," said Saif. The actor also said that the ban in Pakistan will also lead to increase in its piracy.
"Pakistan forms a large portion of our audience. The minute you put a censorship or ban, people will make sure they watch it. And we want them to see the film. In fact we wanted them to see the mujra performed by Kareena.
"It is a shame that they could not see the film in the best way possible. But we tried our best," said Saif. "Agent Vinod" releases in India on March 23.
Rana Daggubati and Nathalia Kaur’s steamy pics go viral
02 months ago

Rana Daggubati who made his bollywood debut with Dum Maro Dum is currently busy shooting for RGV's "Department". Recently his shirtless picture with Nathalia Kaur has become the talk of the town, after filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma circulated it along with a press release that stated the look was for the South movie, "Andam".
But soon, buzz started doing the rounds that the pictures were, in fact, a shoot for RGV's upcoming flick, "Department", in which Nathalia sizzles in an item number.
But there is a twist in the tale. Rana now tells us that the picture is neither from "Andam" nor from "Department", but from a new film altogether, that he may do with RGV.
When we asked Rana about this now famous shirtless picture, he said, "There was never a film called "Andam". I don't know where that title came from because RGV didn't give it, neither did I. The picture is a look test for an untitled Hindi romantic thriller."
When we informed the actor that the picture and title was sent out by Ram Gopal himself, Rana repeated his earlier claims, "First thing, there is no movie called "Andam"... it's a look test for a future film. And it's neither a still from "Department".
Saif-Kareena’s ‘Agent Vinod’ banned in Pakistan
02 months ago

Saif-Kareena's much awaited spy thriller "Agent Vinod" directed by Sriram Raghavan is slated for release on March 23rd this firday. With two days to go for the films worldwide release, news is that the film has been banned for public exhibition in Pakistan.
The censor board hasn’t passed the film as the movie contains references to the ISI that could hurt the sentiments of Pakistani people and its highly unlikely that Agent Vinod will release in Pakistan.
A statement from IMGC Global, the Pakistani distributor of the film, confirmed that the movie had been “banned by the censor board of Pakistan”.
A spokesperson for the Karachi-based Atrium Cinemas chain too confirmed that the movie would not be released on March 23 as it had been held up by the censors.
There was no official word from the board but sources told PTI that the film, which centres round the exploits of an Indian spy played by Saif Ali Khan, was banned as it contained references to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) “that could hurt the sentiments of people in Pakistan”.
Leading newspapers had carried advertisements over the past few days regarding the release of “Agent Vinod” in cinemas across Pakistan on March 23.
However, cineplexes in cities like Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi stopped sales of tickets for the film today after learning that it had not been cleared by censors.
The statement issued by IMGC Global quoted the firm’s chairman, Amjad Rashid, as saying that “Agent Vinod” had been banned “due to the contents of the movie”.

Aamir forced to reshoot Talaash due to Vidya’s Kahaani
02 months ago

Aamir Khan and Vidya Balan share a lot in common. Both of them are at the pinnacle of their respective careers. They take extreme care in choosing their movies. In fact, like Aamir, even Vidya is being addressed by the title ‘perfectionist’ now. But there is another thing that Aamir shares with Vidya, and he surely would not have wanted to do that. If reports are to be believed, the basic plot of Aamir’s highly anticipated ‘Talaash’ is similar to that of the Vidya’s recently released ‘Kahaani’; and that has forced Mr. Perfectionist to reshoot the climax, resulting in the delay of the film’s release.
There were recent reports stating that ‘Talaash’, which was earlier scheduled to release in June, has been pushed forward for a November release because of Aamir being preoccupied with his soon-to-launch TV show. But inside sources have revealed that this is not the case. Aamir is reportedly worried that ‘Kahaani’ has played a spoiler to the plot of ‘Talaash’ and hence the climax needs a bit of nip and tuck. The source further discloses that Aamir cannot afford to take chances with the movie because he anyway gives his commitment to a single movie at a time, and the movie is made crispier as a result.
Being the perfectionist that Aamir is, he would not take chances with the movie. And postponing it to make it better seems to be the best deal rather than serving the audience an already seen product.
